Engineering design process, heavily influences the project outcomes, and is pivotal in addressing critical engineering issues. Engineering design process steps involve defining a problem, understanding requirements, brainstorming solutions, concept generation, ideating designs, design drafting and development, virtual design creation and simulations to identify flaws, design iterations if required, building prototypes and design testing.

The design process however, never moves in a linear fashion. It involves brainstorming going back to iterating and making changes until a satisfactory result is achieved.
